In a little over a month, Virginia voters will elect a governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general. The Virginia Catholic Conference has released voter education materials we hope will guide Catholics as they consider and cast their ballot:

As it has done for other elected offices previously, the Conference is pleased to share its three separate side-by-side comparisons of the positions of candidates for state offices. Conference staff compiled Know the Positions of the Candidates for Governor, Know the Positions of the Candidates for Lieutenant Governor, and Know the Positions of the Candidates for Attorney General from policies, public statements, official campaign websites, party platforms and other sources to help voters understand where the candidates stand on important issues before casting their ballots. Spanish translations of the candidate comparisons for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general are also available. The issues do not represent a complete list of issues that may be of importance to Catholics.  The Conference neither supports nor opposes candidates for public office.

In addition, as they discern how to cast their ballots in the three statewide races and local House of Delegates races, voters are encouraged to consult theFour Principles of Catholic Social Teaching.
