package and email it NO LATER THAN 3 p.m. ON Friday, May 22, 2020 to Amy
Woods at amy@sacredheartnorfolk.org. Please have your letters of recommendation submitted
via email as well.

The Church of the Sacred Heart is proud to offer the Phyllis Scherberger Service Scholarship to current students. This scholarship, a $1,000.00 grant, is endorsed and funded by the Parish Council to recognize young people in the church community who exemplify Christian values and a commitment to helping others through their service to church, school, and local communities. This program is open to students who:

will graduate from high school in the Spring of this year.
- are members in good standing at the Church of the Sacred Heart
- are actively practicing their Catholic faith (including regular Mass attendance)
- plan to attend a two- or four-year college, university, or technical school in the next year
- have an exemplary record of church and community service.
To apply, complete the application package and return it with your sealed letters of recommendation to the church office, ATTN: Scholarship Committee, by the due date. The applications will then be judged by a panel of volunteer graders (none of whom is a staff member, parent of an applicant, or the scholarship chair). These graders will evaluate each section of the application, with all sections weighed equally, to arrive at a composite score that determines the recipients.
