As we celebrate our bicentennial anniversary this year, the Diocese of Richmond has published an illustrated history; “Shine like Stars.” This book tells the story of our parishes, our schools and other institutions. By word and image, it concretely verifies how God has guided us over the years. It further illustrates the many challenges faced and the sacrifices made by our predecessors throughout the last two hundred years, as they labored to live and spread the Catholic faith in our area.
For many years, Sacred Heart Church has been the center of our religious lives, and this book will contain a section exclusively devoted to Sacred Heart and its position in the diocese of Richmond. Please do your best to buy yourself a copy at $40, knowing that the next publication of such a book will be in 2120.
