The Virginia Catholic Conference has created a Voters’ Guide for upcoming General Assembly elections to help voters identify contested races and engage their candidates on issues important to Catholics. The election is Nov. 3. The guide can be found on the footer of the parish website or on the Conference website at www.vacatholic.org.
The Voters’ Guide consists of a Virginia map that highlights the 60 total contested Senate and House races. It also provides a summary of the seven key themes of Catholic Social Teaching, a list of suggested questions to ask candidates, and a link to candidates’ email addresses. The Conference uses the seven themes when developing positions on various legislative proposals.
